Triangle Pose (Trikonasana)

Trikonasana comes from the Sanskrit words “Trikona” (triangle) and “Asana” (pose). The triangle symbolizes strength, balance, and harmony. This posture expands the body laterally, promoting both physical alignment and mental equilibrium.

Steps to Perform

Step 1

Stand straight with your feet about 3 to 4 feet apart.

Step 2

Turn your right foot out 90° and your left foot slightly inward (about 45°).

Step 3

Inhale deeply, stretch your arms out to the sides, parallel to the floor.

Step 4

Exhale and bend your torso to the right, placing your right hand on your shin, ankle, or the floor beside your right foot (as comfortable).

Step 5

Extend your left arm upward, forming a straight line with both arms.

Step 6

Turn your head gently to gaze at your left fingertips.

Step 7

Keep your chest open and your legs firm.

Step 7

Hold the posture for 15–30 seconds, breathing steadily.
